The Full Story
The Ed A. Baker Memorial has been established to pay tribute to Edward Allen Baker, a devoted long resident of Butte. Ed dedicated himself to serving the Butte community, passionately advocating for children and individuals facing financial difficulty. He firmly believed that every child could find their path when given the right opportunities. Known also as "Allen," Ed moved to Butte, MT, at the age of five, he graduated from Butte High School, and later worked for Silver Bow General and St. James Hospital before retiring from the Butte MEPS. He was deeply involved in the community through bowling leagues, softball teams, fundraising or charity events, the 15-90 Search and Rescue, and the Butte United Veterans Council Honor Guard. Ed loved to socialize and considered everyone a friend. Known for his kindness and generosity he always had time for people. Above all, he cared for children, always going out of his way to provide support to those in need, understanding that many are shaped by their environments
and families facing financial difficulties.
He was a light in the Butte Community and he will be missed
