Application Criteria

The Ed A Baker Memorial Scholarships will award three $500 one time cash scholarships to Butte High School, Butte Central, or Butte Homeschool  students attending Montana Technological University or Highland College. Ed "Allen," graduated from Butte High School being an average student and community supporter, he inspired these community-based scholarships. Funds will be mailed in the fall after enrollment verification by the respective colleges.

Application Enrollment

  • 1. Enrollment is currently open for the 2026 -2027 school year and will close 11:59p.m. May 31st. 

  • 2. The recipient will be notified in July

  • 3. The scholarship will be sent to the recipient in the fall, after enrollment is verified

Application Requirements

  • 1. Complete Application

  • 2. College Acceptance Letter

  • 3. Submit An essay of 550 words on Why you want to pursue a higher level of education and how it will impact the community

  • 4. List of Community Service, Leadership and Extracurricular Activities

  • 5. Letter of Recommendation from a teacher, counselor, coach, mentor or activity leader​

Eligibility 
Requirements

  • 1. Must be a graduating senior of Butte Highschool, Butte Central or the Butte Homeschool community

  • 2. Must have your college Acceptance Letter

  • 3. Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
